Perry McCarthy, racing driver, bestselling author and the original secret racing driver ‘The Stig’ from BBC’s Top Gear will be the guest speaker at this year’s dinner on Saturday 25th June.
Well known in the world of International Motor Racing for both his speed and humour Perry is also famous for his incredible determination, opportunism and deal making abilities. His unique attitude and against the odds journey from working on oil rigs to racing driver, author and becoming famous as The Stig has been inspirational.
There have been many difficult times for Perry and his young family, but he would not give up, either on or off the track. Damon Hill, 1996 F1 World Champion, said of McCarthy “I have constant admiration for how he turns a no hope situation into some sort of triumph”
Perry’s quick wit and ability to deride himself and others will be an interesting and entertaining highlight of the dinner. He’ll engage the audience with amusing anecdotes, tales of highs and lows, stories about his role on Top Gear and some misadventures at 200 miles per hour.
