The new Morgan Plus Four

4th March 2020

Despite the Geneva Motor Show being cancelled at the last minute, Morgan Motor Co. went ahead with the launch of the new Plus Four anyway, hosting it at the Factory in Malvern on Monday evening. Jon Wells drove the show car back from Switzerland over the weekend, in order to be back in time for the event.

The new car uses the same CX-platform aluminium chassis as the Plus Six, but with a four-cylinder 2 litre BMW turbo engine, producing 255bhp. There's a manual 6-speed gearbox or the same 8-speed auto from the Plus Six. The wooden body tub is a narrowed version of the Plus Six, the front end panels use the same Superform tooling as the old cars (hence the almost identical look), and new suspension gives it a narrower track and optional wire wheels (retro alloys are standard). The width of the body and the overall width are very similar to the Roadster.
