Spectacular Sensations at Bicester (StarterMotor event)
Bookings are now open for the MSCC & StarterMotor event at Bicester Heritage on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd May. The Friday will be sponsored by Williams Automobiles and include a variety of fascinating experiences, mostly automotive-based, on the historic former RAF base at Bicester.
Experiences to be confirmed so far include:
• Fabric masterclass with upholsterer Harry Fraser – interactive sessions of up to 45 minutes to see how automotive trimming is done.
• Guided tours of the Bicester Motion site – with expert guides telling the stories of the airbase as well as the specialists on site today.
• Morgan and Caterham demonstrators which you can drive on the track, kindly provided by Williams Automobiles
• Drive your own car on the test track, included in the donation
• Sustainable fuels presentation – Motor Spirit (formerly Classic Oils Ltd)
• Motorsport UK - A tour of their headquarters and discussion about new regulations, and how they are working to get rid of red tape.
• Fashion Show – featuring the Morgan Sports Car Club’s new Spring range of clothing.
We’re working on several further attractions, which we will announce as soon as they are confirmed.
The Bicester track will be open from 12.00 to 16.00 and there will be the opportunity to test-drive new Morgans on track, provided by Williams Automobiles. There will also be sessions to drive your own car on the track.
The donation to StarterMotor is £50 per car. Email chairmscc@morgansportscarclub.com to sign up for the event. Jann Robinson will give you the bank details to make your donation direct to StarterMotor. Sign up on arrival for the different experiences. All of the above is included in the entry donation.
On Friday there will be plenty of places on the Bicester Motion site to buy food and drink. On Saturday, you will need to bring your own. We have made provision for wet weather.
