75 Years of MSCC – The History of the MSCC
As we celebrate 75 years of the Morgan Sports Car Club, it is worth reflecting on how it all began.
The Club was founded in 1950 by a small group of enthusiastic Morgan owners who wanted to bring together like-minded people with a shared passion for the marque. What started as a modest gathering of enthusiasts quickly grew into a thriving community, united by friendship, adventure, and a love of Morgan cars.
In those early years, communication was far more challenging than it is today. There were no websites, social media platforms, or email newsletters. Instead, members relied on meetings, printed publications, and word of mouth to stay connected. Yet despite these limitations, the Club flourished, driven by the enthusiasm and commitment of its members.
As Morgan ownership expanded, so too did the Club. Regional Centres were established across the UK, creating opportunities for local members to meet regularly, organise events, and share experiences. Over time, the MSCC developed into the vibrant organisation we know today, supporting thousands of members both in the UK and overseas.
Throughout its history, the Club has remained true to the principles on which it was founded: friendship, shared enjoyment of Morgan cars, and helping owners get the very best from their motoring experiences.
From those early gatherings in 1950 to today's thriving community of members, Centres, events, publications, and digital resources, the MSCC has grown beyond anything its founders could have imagined.
As we celebrate our 75th anniversary, we remember and thank those pioneering members whose vision created the Club we enjoy today.
