Mendip - Mendip Area

Mendip Gallery

Welcome To The MSCC Mendip Centre

The Mendip Centre is a friendly group of currently 106 Morgan enthusiasts together with 47 Morgan Sports Cars, who live within easy reach of the Mendip Hills of Somerset. Designated an A.O.N.B. it includes the stunning and iconic Cheddar Gorge together with its sister gorge, Burrington Combe, both of which carve their ways through the beautiful Mendip carboniferous limestone terrain.

The area is traversed by main arterial roads comprising the A37, A38, A39 and M5 whilst the coastline flanks the Severn Estuary from Portishead down to Burnham on Sea.

The centre was formed in May 1994, so 2024 will mark our 30th anniversary and thankfully we still have three of our founding members on the books.

At the beginning of 2024, our records show that members' Morgans comprised of 1 x Plus Six, 3 x Plus Four, 12 x +8, 5 x Roadsters, 16 x +4 and 10 x 4/4  ranging from 1956 to 2022, with a mean date of registration of 2004.64.

Clicking on the [MENDIP GALLERY] button just below the Morgan photo above, will take you to our photographic archive held on Flickr, which is regularly updated by Margaret Jewell, from photos sent to her by members.

The committee is elected at the AGM each in November and our new Centre Secretary as from 2023 is Mark Owen. David Millard is still carrying on with Treasurer duties and his wife Linda is also a committee member. Clive & Natalie Nunn oversee our Mendip regalia offerings, via the "logothatpolo" website.  The committee organise annual events such as the Birthday Party in May, AGM in November and Christmas Party in December, but all other events are down to the general membership taking the initiative. Paul Williams is the Events Co-ordinator, and will produce regular updates which will be fed into this webpage from time to time but the most up to date information will be available at any time via www.flyingmorgan.weebly.com

If you would like to organise an event, plenty of guidance is available to assist, but it is ESSENTIAL that you contact the Events Co-ordinator directly, prior to making any bookings to avoid any clashes. We have an ongoing program of regular events including Noggins, Breakfast Clubs and Sunday Lunches, attracting anything from 20 to 40 members at a time.  We also aim to encourage motoring breaks away and attendance at organised motoring events both at home and abroad.

Please click Here to download an interim copy of our program, updated on 28/03/2024

BUT, if you require the most up to date information go to  www.flyingmorgan.weebly.com
